Parent & Caregiver Sessions
Parent and caregiver involvement is one of the strongest predictors of success in ABA therapy. Our training sessions give you practical, hands-on strategies you can use every day to reinforce your child’s progress outside of therapy sessions. Your BCBA works with you one-on-one to address the specific situations and challenges your family faces.
What Parent Training Looks Like
Sessions are held in person — typically at your home — and focus on the skills and strategies most relevant to your family. Your BCBA may model techniques during real situations, coach you through practice scenarios, and provide feedback in the moment. Topics often include how to reinforce positive behavior, how to respond to challenging behavior, and how to set up daily routines that support skill development.
Why Caregiver Training Matters
Research consistently shows that children make faster and more lasting progress when caregivers apply ABA strategies consistently across settings. A therapist may see your child for a few hours a day, but you are with them for the rest. By equipping you with the right tools, we multiply the impact of therapy and help your child generalize skills to everyday life — mealtimes, bedtime, outings, and more.
Covered by Insurance
Parent and caregiver training is a covered benefit under most ABA therapy insurance plans, including Aetna. Sessions are documented as part of your child’s treatment plan and are supervised by your BCBA. We schedule sessions at times that work for your family and can adjust the focus as your child’s needs evolve.
